These standards describe how Wise Online Parent researches, writes, reviews, and updates its resources. We publish them because parents deserve to know where guidance comes from before they act on it in their own homes.

What we publish

Wise Online Parent creates educational resources about children, technology, screens, social media, online safety, and artificial intelligence. The resources help parents think clearly, start better conversations, and make decisions that fit their children and family.

We are an independent digital parenting publisher. We are not a clinical practice, a school, or a safety enforcement service.

How we research

• We prioritize primary research over summaries of summaries.
• We use recognized professional and public-health guidance where it exists.
• We compare sources rather than relying on any single study or headline.
• We distinguish strong evidence from emerging findings.
• We state uncertainty honestly instead of smoothing it over.
• We check time-sensitive platform and technology information, which changes quickly.
• We encourage readers to review publication and update dates before acting.

How we write

• We validate before we advise. Feeling behind on technology is reasonable, not a failure.
• We distinguish evidence from interpretation, and we say which is which.
• We centre the parent-child relationship, because connection is the protection.
• We avoid shame and fear as persuasion tools.
• We avoid guarantees about outcomes that no resource can promise.
• We provide adaptable frameworks and conversation tools rather than rigid rules.

Review and accountability

Each resource is edited for clarity, consistency, source quality, and practical usefulness before publication. Where a topic requires specialized clinical, legal, safety, or technical judgment, we aim to seek appropriately qualified review and identify that review in the resource. We do not imply professional review where it has not occurred.

Educational limitation

Wise Online Parent provides general educational information. It is not medical, mental health, legal, or emergency advice, and it does not replace support from a qualified professional who understands your family and jurisdiction.

Corrections and updates

If you find something inaccurate, unclear, or out of date, tell us at team@wiseonlineparent.com. We read every message.

When a correction is material, we update the resource itself and its review date rather than quietly editing around the error.

Testimonials and commercial relationships

Testimonials must come from real readers or customers and must reflect their genuine experiences. We do not publish invented reviews. If we receive compensation, free access, affiliate revenue, or another material benefit connected to a recommendation, we will disclose it clearly.

Our resources are paid products. That is our only current revenue source, and we would rather say so plainly than obscure it.
